Pro Flow

Fontijne Grotnes developed a unique flow forming process and designed the fastest machine for this application in the world to optimise the weight of rims and wheels. This process was developed in cooperation with M&M Machinery Group and is equipped with proven technology. This was confirmed by the fact that the application for a patent was granted. The Flow former can be integrated into either new rim profiling lines or existing rim lines and as a process within one-piece production systems.

Return on investment
  • Up to 25% weight can be saved, depending on the rim size
  • On 3 million rims, up to 4000 ton of steel can be saved per year
  • Compared to competitive processes energy costs can be saved,
up to € 275,000 per year, per Flow former!
The main advantages of the Pro Flow compared to other systems:
  • Reduced deformation forces
  • Shorter production time
  • Reduction of energy costs
  • Less wear on tooling
  • Accurate control of geometry/tolerances
  • No process cooling required
  • Limited process lubrication
  • The Flow forming process does not require any calibration prior for
    Flow forming (for steel rims).
